How it clears.
Find the creator
Search whoever made the sound and name the file you used, so they know exactly which one — then send the request.
The creator prices it
Tell them about your release. They review your request and send you a price — you accept, counter, or decline.
Paid & signed
They say yes. Stripe moves the money and the contract signs itself — hash-stamped, so it can’t be quietly changed.
Every clearance ends as a document neither side can quietly rewrite.
Examples — drag to browse. Every real clearance signs one of these.
Flat, and only when you actually get paid. No monthly fee, no retainer, no lawyer on the clock. The other 88% goes straight to you.

What a clearance covers.
Clearable clears sounds non-exclusively — the creator can still license the same sound to others. Your usage tier is set by your size at signing, and the whole scope is written into the agreement. Want the sound retired for you alone? That’s an exclusive buyout — negotiated directly with the creator.
- Up to 500,000 monetized streams
- Up to 10,000 distributed copies
- 1 music video
- Radio + live performance included
Non-monetized plays are unlimited.

The working-artist tier.
- Unlimited streams

Nothing left to meter.
- The creator retires the sound for you
- No caps — full exclusivity
- Terms agreed directly with the creator
Pick “Major label” or ask the creator to open an exclusive.
If a song outgrows its tier it’s an upgrade, not a breach — you re-clear at your new size and the rights extend. No royalty collection: each side registers the song with their own society. Agreement template is draft pending legal review.
Questions, answered.
Do I need an account to clear a sound?
No. Buyers only need the link — send the request, get the creator’s price, pay, sign. Creators log in to manage sounds, requests, payouts and contracts.
How is the price set?
The creator sets it. When you request a clearance they see your release details and send you a price — you never see a number until they do. Behind the scenes we suggest a rate from the release size, but only the creator decides, and you can always counter.
Is the clearance exclusive?
No — clearances are non-exclusive by default, so the creator can still license the same sound to others. Your usage tier (Standard, Premium or Unlimited) is set by your size at signing and written into the agreement. Want the sound retired for you alone? An exclusive buyout is negotiated directly with the creator.
Is the agreement legally binding?
Every clearance produces a click-signed, hash-stamped record with a timestamp and the accepted terms, plus a downloadable PDF. The current template is marked draft pending legal review — final language ships with counsel sign-off.
When do I get paid?
The moment the buyer pays. It goes straight to your Stripe account — no invoice, no chasing.
What does Clearable cost?
12% per completed clearance. No subscriptions, no listing fees — if no money moves, Clearable costs nothing.
